12 regions of your brain go bonkers when you’re in LOVE

I found this article in a magazine on my last flight which I just had to share since it’s almost Valentine’s Day! Hope you enjoy!

Step aside, pitter-pattering hearts and butterfly-filled stomachs, the real romantic epicenter is the old noggin. According to a study comparing the functional MRIs of those with ‘that lovin feelin’, there are a dozen regions in your noodle responsible for upping your desire to, well, canoodle. These neurological hot spots collectively release neurotransmitters and chemicals into the brain and blood that trigger all manner of blissful sensations, including attraction, pleasure, and trust. And all of this happens within a fifth of a second, asserts Syracuse University Professor Stephanie Oritgue, who led the study. As an added bonus, certain compounds of hormones, such as dopamine and oxytocin, actually decrease respective feelings of sadness and fear. What’s not to love about that?!

Okay, so I wonder if this all holds true for clothing, cause I know my neurotransmitters get pretty excited when they see the perfect pair of shoes, right?!?
