BRING ON THE BOWLS!

It’s that time of year. The time of year when even your favorite TV shows take the back seat, when remotes are forfeited and the question “what are we going to watch tonight” isn’t even asked. It’s Bowl Season. There are some amazing bowl games to be had this year ending with what can only be predicted as an epic bowl game between #1 seed Notre Dame and #2 seed Alabama. Whether your favorite team was lucky enough to make it into a bowl game, or you have to choose a new favorite team for the end of the year, this is a time to come together for some good old fashioned football viewing…and when we say come together, we mean play up those old rivalries (or new ones) and cheer as loud as you can when your team wins (or curse that they were robbed!!)

Here at Meesh & Mia, as you can imagine, we have some die hard fans….and if they weren’t when they started, they’re certainly starting to catch on. We asked our gals who they would be rooting for this bowl season and we were pleasantly surprised that there are PLENTY of office rivalries! True, many of these rivalries are for show…our web manager only loves Alabama because our art manager loves Notre Dame…but that’s what this holiday season is all about, right?

 So, in honor of Bowl Season, we had a photo shoot with the ladies of Meesh & Mia sporting the looks of their favorite teams. We are a small team, so not all bowl games are represented here, but please know that we truly heart ALL bowl games and, with the exception of just a few teams, we have plenty of fashions to make you stand out in any bowl game crowd! We mean it when we say this year is going to be a Bowl Full of Fashion.

At Meesh & Mia we are committed not only to supporting education, but to creating jobs for the graduates of our many University partners. This, among many other reasons, is why we felt a compelling responsibility to manufacture our products within the United States. This year, we are thrilled to announce that over 65% of Meesh & Mia’s products are now designed and manufactured here in the United States!

We couldn’t be more excited to introduce our incoming 2012 styles, available later this month, with the easily identifiable and always welcomed “Made in th U.S.A” tag. You’ll now see it appearing throughout the site on your favorite new styles!

We’re looking forward to an exciting and successful year and we can’t wait for you to join us in the movement.

We’ve got the Manufacturing Fever!

We’ve been talking about it…we’ve been excited about it…and now it’s being manufactured as we speak!!! So many amazing bright school colors on soft, flattering fabric…the anticipation is killing us! The New Schools on the Block

Starting this week, we are adding on to our Meesh & Mia awesomeness by introducing quite a few new schools to the collection. This week, we’re welcoming the below schools…and throughout the month of May we’ll be adding just about 30 more. INTRODUCING: Matt Gillis – Marketing Manager

It’s been awhile since we’ve introduced you to one of our amazing team members, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten!  Here to get us back on track with these introductions…MATT GILLIS!

You know those awesome emails you get? You know how we gave away 2 tickets to the BCS championship game? You know how you get money just for talking about us to your friends? That’s because of this guy! Mr. Gillis not only comes up with our stellar marketing plans and programs (and those discounts we know you love), but he’s a former pro aerial skier, outdoor adrenalin junkie and hard core fundraising fool for Cystinosis research (here’s a quick plug for his fundraising efforts, you can see all he does by visiting http://www.payinitforward.com/) That’s right, he’s a giver, but sorry ladies, he’s taken!

Curling…That’s Right, Curling…with the ICLA!

A few weeks ago Meesh & Mia was lucky enough to attend the CAMEX trade-show where we were able to show off our new collection. Needless to say the collection was well received by all and we are thrilled at the opportunities that await us at so many college campuses around the country!!

However,  the highlight of the trade-show wasn’t necessarily the ooo’s and ahhh’s about our product or the possibilities of new schools being brought in…although that was nice…it was the amazing time we had with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (ICLA) team.  As National Sponsors of the ICLA we had the opportunity to get to know their team personally, and let me be the first to tell you, these folks know how to have some fun. While there are numerous stories I could tell about our ICLA shenanigans, there is one that sticks out purely for its insanity…CURLING. That’s right, curling.

Curling is basically shuffleboard on ice…which sounds harmless enough, but did I mention it’s on ICE?! Many ICLA members were brave enough to go out on the ice and try this seemingly impossible sport, but only one Meesh & Mia team member decided that she could go and show them what it was all about. Kim McLaughlin, our VP of sales, was the first victim of Curling although I must say she was somewhat of a natural.  One by one we were all convinced (aka pulled kicking and screaming) onto the ice and tried our hand at my new favorite winter Olympic sport. A minor concussion and quite a bit of bruising later…we all decided it would be best if we stuck to our day jobs.

Yes it’s true, the Meesh & Mia team is not going to be representing the United States in Curling in 2014…but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few ICLA members in the running (Nikki at GW…you know the Olympics are calling your name!)

The Colors of 2012

As we’re gearing up for our Spring/Summer line, we’re adding new colors to the palette. We know that some of you (University of Tennessee, University of South Carolina, University of North Carolina to name a vocal few!!!!) have noticed that we don’t offer some of your beloved colors. Not to worry friends!!! We’re adding new colors this year that will provide nearly all of our schools the full color palette they’ve been waiting for.
